The auspicious brother-sister relationship is honoured on Raksha Bandhan, which means “chain of safety.”
On the full moon day, or Purnima, in the Hindu calendar month of Shravan, the Hindu festival is celebrated.

A sister ties a thread around her brother’s wrist on this day as a mark of her unwavering faith in him and her prayers for his long life.
